A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling error. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of junk emails, but this problem can be resolved by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

Creating a catch-all e-mailbox will be surprisingly easy in case you’ve got a Linux shared website hosting with us. You can activate this feature through our powerful, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager tool, which is included in the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer the web hosting account itself. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have created displayed alphabetically and on the right side of each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously reveal to you if a particular mailbox gets all the emails pertaining to a certain domain name or not. With a single click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you want. In case there is enabled email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you will receive a warning notice from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically or without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be enabled without effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you have set up with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll find a small-size icon conveniently located right next to each one. With just one mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature through the menu that will pop up. In case any of the prerequisites for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
